Wheels of progress turn slo-o-o-o-w
As mentioned here a community group decided they would like to take on the development of one of the phases of the original, now defunct, project proposals. That was in September 2008. Since then, in the intervening 16 months, nothing has happenned to the site except the grass grows, weeds grow, then the council send in a tractor to cut them down again.
I know that all those good people working to get this development sorted out are beavering away in the background but frankly there seems to be too many points of focus. Trying to involve anything and anybody in what the land would be used for in order to meet requirements of those who would fund it means that the project loses its focus and direction. This was supposed to be a plot of land, on which residents would be able to come together in an effort to grow flowers that could be used in things like street planters, hanging baskets, and the 'Peace Garden' that will now never see the light of day as far as I can see.
